What Does a Professional Siding Design & Proposal Process Entail?

Table of Contents

One of the most intimidating things about potentially getting new siding installed is that the process can be drastically different from one contractor to another, and the professional siding design process may vary in quality and completeness as well. When you work with Fairway Exteriors, we make it a point to give you and your project the attention to quality and detail that they deserve. Let’s take a look at what our professional siding design and proposal process is and how it works.

The Professional Siding Design & Proposal Process

Live Scheduling Agent

The first thing that happens when you contact us is that you don’t get sent to a call center somewhere abroad, your call is instead answered by one of our expert, local scheduling agents. These are professional members of our team that will work with you to make sure you get an appointment for a date and time that works best for you.

In-Person Consultation & Plan

At the date and time that you choose, one of our design professionals will come out to your home for an in-person consultation and planning session. Your design professional will get measurements for your home and will help you understand your various options and design aspects. The homeowner will choose design components like transitional elements, soffit, fascia, and more. Then the design professional will take that information back to the office for the next stage.

Design & Color Options

During the intensive design and color option evaluation stage, your design professional will build a detailed custom rendering of your home with the siding and options in place so that colors can be chosen. This will be the stage where the homeowner will have the most time to freely explore their color options.

The design professional will bring the rendering back out to the home, where the homeowner can evaluate the different color choices placed on their specific home. After a period, the homeowner will generally be able to narrow down their potential options to a shortlist. At this point, they can receive a list of addresses with that color option installed, so they can see the result in a live environment. This is often enough to help decide on a final color option, but in some cases, there may still be some indecision.

The final stage of the design and color process entails small two-foot samples of siding material being created and brought out to the home. This way, if there are two or three colors that the homeowner is still stuck between, they can then see them live in their own home. Sometimes, seeing the color next to your own brickwork or trim is what is needed to make the final choice.

Once the final color choice has been made, the installation is scheduled. We pride ourselves on being one of the best installation contractors in the KC area, and not only offer James Hardie-certified installation contractors but customization and installation of new windows and entry doors as well.
