Hi, I’m Scott Neidow, founder of Fairway Exteriors. Before starting Fairway, I spent 15 years working directly for James Hardie. That experience shapes how we approach exterior remodeling, from training standards to installation quality and the overall customer experience.
During my time at Hardie, I trained thousands of siding contractors across the country, inspected field installations, managed sales teams, led entire regions, and worked directly with the company’s CEO. Those roles reinforced a simple truth. Quality does not come from marketing or shortcuts. It comes from knowledge, discipline, and doing the work the right way.
Fairway Exteriors was built after seeing the same issue repeat itself across thousands of siding projects. Homeowners chose high-quality products, especially James Hardie, yet results varied widely based on who installed them. The material was engineered to perform. The installation often was not.
We exist to address that by applying manufacturer-level standards to every project. The same discipline used to train, inspect, and evaluate contractors is built into how jobs are designed, installed, and managed. The goal is simple. Nicholas Ludwig leads our team supervising crews and communicating daily with homeowners as our Senior Production Manager. Nicholas grew up on a farm and was tinkering and helping out as needed. Later he honed his construction skills as a welder for several years. Eventually he moved on to being a handyman and then has spent the last few years as an experienced veteran supervising exterior remodeling crews in Kansas City.

Scott, Nicholas and the Fairway Exteriors team did a great job installing James Hardie siding – replacing existing vinyl siding that overlaid stucco. The team performed quickly and Scott/Nicholas provided consistent progress throughout the project. As with all older houses the real work is repairing and accounting for the parts of the house that may not be true or suffering from other issues. The Fairway team addressed all issues and the final installation looked like we’ve had it all along. Would recommend.

Superior performance in every respect from start to finish. Our 40+ yrs old bat and board wood siding had once again needed wood rot repair as well as a new paint job. We got the usual paint bids but also contacted Fairway (based on reviews) to consider replacing it with James Hardie siding. And we are glad we did. Fairway did a great job (including a new window) and in the end we ended up with more value for our dollars spent. We’ve never had a contractor more conscientious than Scott. We worked with Fairway Exteriors and had a good experience. We did both siding and windows as well and have been pleased with the work for both. We chose Fairway based on reviews from others and their pricing was competitive. The onsite installers were professional and there was always a foreman on site we could communicate directly with. He also gave us daily updates on progress, questions or issues. We had issues with a leaky exterior faucet and a gas line that they discovered and we had a third party come out to fix. Those were our only additional costs.

We had our siding replaced by Fairway Exteriors this week and are very very pleased with the result. Scott is very knowledgeable about siding and was happy to answer any questions we had on the initial consultation. The quote came in quickly and when we decided go move forward they were able to squeeze us in a lot faster than we assumed. When it came time to start Scott and Isaac were both very helpful and kept us informed of any hiccups and everything going on via group text and any questions we had they had answers. Of course a project of this magnitude isn’t cheap, but they are very competitive on pricing and have a top of the line product. We are very pleased with overall experience and would highly recommend.
