BUSINESS ETHICS

How We Conduct Our Business

These are not aspirational values. They are operational commitments that govern every decision we make.

  • Honest about what we find. When we discover wood rot or structural issues we show you photos immediately and discuss options before proceeding — we never cover up a problem.
  • Honest about what things cost. Fully itemized written quotes only. If scope changes, you get a written change order before we proceed. No surprise invoices.
  • We recommend what’s right, not what’s easiest. Even if that means a smaller project than initially discussed.
  • No high-pressure sales tactics. No countdown timers, no fake offers. Choose us because we’re the right fit, not because we made you feel rushed.
  • We never subcontract without telling you. All subs are vetted, insured, and held to the same standards as our own crew.

We commit to never:

  • Add charges after signing without a written change order
  • Start work without a signed, itemized contract
  • Request full payment before work begins
  • Pull permits in the homeowner’s name
  • Ignore a homeowner complaint or warranty request

What "Done Right" Means at Fairway Exteriors

Our standards are built on 15 years of manufacturer-level experience — the same standards used to train, inspect, and certify contractors across the country.

  • Manufacturer specs followed exactly. James Hardie installation specifications — nailing patterns, clearances, flashing, caulking — followed on every job, no shortcuts.
  • Proper weather barriers installed on every re-side. Many contractors skip house wrap to save time and money. We never do.
  • All rot repaired before anything is covered. We identify and fix every instance of rot or moisture intrusion before new siding goes on.
  • Project manager on site daily. Your PM sends daily video updates so you always know what’s happening with your home.
  • Metal detector sweep before job close-out. We sweep the full yard and driveway for nails before we consider any job complete.
  • Final walkthrough with you. We inspect the finished work together. If anything isn’t right, we fix it before we leave.

WARRANTY TERMS

What We Guarantee, in Plain Language

Every siding project includes two separate warranties.

FAIRWAY EXTERIORS

Lifetime Workmanship Warranty

Lifetime

Covers any defect in how your siding, windows, or doors were installed. No time limit, no prorating. If our installation caused the problem, we fix it at no cost — in year 3 or year 25.

JAMES HARDIE

Product Warranty

30-Year Non-Prorated

Covers manufacturing defects in the Hardie product itself. Non-prorated means coverage does not diminish over time. Available in full only when installed by an Elite Preferred Contractor — which Fairway Exteriors is.

What our workmanship warranty does not cover

  • Damage from severe weather events (hail, tornado, falling trees)
  • Damage caused by other contractors working after our project is complete
  • Normal wear, fading, or paint touch-up after years of exposure

Making a warranty claim

Call (913) 850-7030 or use our website contact form. We respond within two business days. Our workmanship warranty transfers with the property if you sell your home.

HOMEOWNER PROTECTIONS

Your Rights as a Fairway Exteriors Customer

  • Written, itemized quote — always. No verbal agreements. Every cost is spelled out before work begins.
  • 3-day cancellation window. Per Kansas and Missouri law, cancel within 3 business days of signing for any reason — full deposit refund within 15 days.
  • Written change orders before any scope change. You approve it in writing before we do it — no retroactive additions.
  • You see everything we find. Rot, moisture, structural issues — documented with photos and shown to you before any repair decision is made.
  • Final payment only after your sign-off. We don’t invoice for final payment until you’ve confirmed satisfaction at the walkthrough.
  • Prompt warranty service. Every concern receives a response within two business days.

CONTRACTOR STANDARDS

Licenses, Certifications & Professional Standards

Licensing & Insurance

Johnson County, KS Class C Residential Contractor License #2025-0000902. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance — certificates available on request before any project begins.

Certifications

  • James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor — required for homeowners to receive the full 30-year non-prorated product warranty
  • James Hardie Alliance Elite Member — the highest tier in James Hardie’s contractor program
  • ProVia Certified Installer — required for ProVia’s lifetime warranty on your windows and doors
  • BBB A+ Accredited Business — accredited since October 2025

Installation standards

  • All crews trained to James Hardie Elite Preferred installation specs
  • Weather barriers installed on every re-siding project, no exceptions
  • Permits pulled for all work requiring them
  • Lead-safe demolition practices followed on pre-1978 homes
  • All materials sourced from authorized distributors
